Getting There:

The Palace Theatre is located in the Eastwood area of Syracuse. A main feature of the Business District along James Street, it’s likely the neighborhood’s best known landmark – easy to get to and hard to miss!

By Car: James Street, beginning in Downtown and ending in East Syracuse, runs parallel to and is crossed by many main roads in Syracuse. Please read below for directions and parking information.

By Bus: Several bus lines run up and down James Street, specifically the Eastwood/Sunnycrest and East Syracuse/Shoppingtown routes. Check the Centro Bus schedules at www.centro.org/CNYCENTROSchedules.aspx for the route(s) that best suit your travel needs.

By Train/Greyhound Bus: The Centro Regional Transportation Center is located west of the theater and is about 15 minutes travel time away. There are taxi services available and local city bus routes that can take you to a transfer stop. Please be careful to plot your arrangements well in advance to be sure that your travel time doesn’t cut into your festival time.

By Plane: Hancock Airport is located north of the theater, around 15 minutes travel time away. Taxi or car is your best bet to get from there to the festival.

Driving Directions:

From I-690 and Erie Blvd – take Midler Avenue heading north. At the James Street intersection turn left. Continue strait 0.4 miles – the theater will be on your left at the corner of James and Stafford Avenue.

From I-90/NYS Thruway – Get off the tollway at Exit #35 (East Syracuse/Rt-298). Enter the circle and drive until the third branch, Rt-635 South/Thompson Road. Continue up Thompson to the James Street intersection, and turn right onto James. Continue strait 1 mile – the theater will be on your left at the corner of James and Stafford Avenue.

or let teh google draw you a route.

Parking:

There is a small parking lot behind the theater accessed off of Stafford Avenue. There is also meter parking along James Street. Odd/even parking is in effect along Stafford Avenue and other nearby side streets, which means you park on the side of the street with the EVEN numbered houses (until 6pm).

Please be respectful and do not park in lots reserved for other businesses or block driveways of nearby residences – we want to be good neighbors!

Where to Eat:

The Palace, being a movie theater, has a concession stand with all the standard salty and sugary snacks you’d expect.  Popcorn, candy, and soda aplenty!

Other eateries within short walking distance:

Taste of Philadelphia (sandwiches) – 1 block
Lee’s Garden (Chinese) – 1.5 blocks
Subway – 1 block
Laci’s Burger Joint – 3 blocks
Dunkin Donuts – 6 blocks
Papa John’s Pizza – 6 blocks

Where to Stay:

We recommend one of the many many many hotels located around Carrier Circle. There are a wide range of hotel chains sure to meet any price range, and they are all situated right off NYS Thruway exit #35. Driving distance to the Palace Theater is roughly 3 miles – head south on Rt-635/Thompson Road to James Street and make a right.

As we are currently a smaller local organization, we do not have any special hotel rates reserved at present. If you are coming in from out of town (and we are THRILLED to have you!) you can contact us, and if there is enough interest we will do what we can to arrange a special rate for the event.
